Although his main\ninstruments were the tenor saxophone and the flute, he was known\nfor his innovative blending of jazz with Asian music. His “Eastern”’\ninfluences are clearly audible on Eastern Sounds (Moodsville MVST-\n22), which is presented here in its entirety along with all of his other\nquartet recordings with iconic pianist Barry Harris. Among them are\ntwo tracks, “Cookin’” and “Marching Piper Blues”, which were only\nissued on a hard to find single and appear here for the first time ever\non CD.
