Released in 1996, it’s a snapshot of two architects of ’80s guitar and synth music navigating the more polished world of ’90s production without losing their character. Sumner’s wistful vocals and melodic instincts meet Marr’s intricate guitar lines and textural sense, wrapped in rich electronic arrangements that feel expansive rather than glossy.

You can hear echoes of Manchester’s post‑punk past, but filtered through a widescreen pop lens: pulsing sequencers, warm pads, and guitar figures that drift in like half‑remembered hooks. Instead of chasing club trends, the duo builds songs that unfurl slowly, rewarding close listening on a good system—exactly what you want from a record on vinyl. The production breathes, letting details like backing vocals, synth countermelodies, and subtle guitar flourishes emerge with each spin.

For collectors of New Order, The Smiths, Pet Shop Boys, or thoughtful ’90s synth-pop, this album fills in an important corner of the map. It’s not a greatest-hits package; it’s a mood piece, quietly ambitious and emotionally resonant, that deepens with every listen on wax.","Electronic’s second LP fuses New Order melancholy with Pet Shop Boys gloss in a lush, emotionally charged synth-pop suite.","2026-11-04 06:08:56",6599,null,false,"instock",true,1,"CRCHAH23748","500","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/Electronic-Raise-The-Pressure.jpg",[22
628928,[],[26
1727,"Brand New Vinyls","brand-new-vinyls",[],[32,37,41,46,51,56,60
38465,"Artist",[36],"Electronic
10613,"Genre",[36
10626,"Mood",[45],"Nostalgia
1796,"No Of Records",[50],"1
1339,"Record Condition",[55],"M
1338,"Sleeve Condition",[55
264,"Speed",[64],"33",[],[
"product:628929","profile",[71,81,89,96,104,112,120,128
"628927","Electronic – Twisted Tenderness - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","electronic-twisted-tenderness-brand-new-vinyl-lp-record-quick-ship","6599","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/Electronic-Twisted-Tenderness.jpg",0.8868
similar","Similar to this record
"274861","Depeche Mode – Music for the Masses - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","depeche-mode-music-for-the-masses","4949","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/0889853367313.webp",0.7726
"338078","Portishead – Dummy - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","portishead-dummy","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/AGOB_8285221__150498__05152020111621-2214-375x200-1.jpg",0.7524
"628132","Rush – Grace Under Pressure (+ Download Code) - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","rush-grace-under-pressure-download-code-brand-new-vinyl-lp-record-quick-ship","6819","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/rush-grace-under-pressure-180g-vinyl-record.jpg",0.746
"338076","Moby – Play (2xLP) - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","moby-play-2xlp","7149","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/189d95ed5d5933ce8180075b2ebb6ac3d69411d3497b0a3c2634ac4326867238-375x200-1.jpg",0.7434
"98950","Pet Shop Boys – Fundamental (2017 Remaster) - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","pet-shop-boys-fundamental-2017-remaster","4729","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Pet-Shop-Boys-Fundamental-2017-Remaster-1.jpg",0.7387
"117290","The Smiths – Louder Than Bombs (Remastered) - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","the-smiths-louder-than-bombs-remastered-2","7127","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/The-Smiths-Louder-Than-Bombs-Remastered.jpg",0.7376
"409280","Daft Punk – Random Access Memories (2 CD) (10th Anniversary Edition) - Brand New - Audio CD (Quick Ship)","daft-punk-random-access-memories-2-cd-10th-anniversary-edition-brand-new-audio-cd-quick-ship","4399","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Daft-Punk-Random-Access-Memories-2CD-10th-Anniversary-Edition.webp",0.7282
