The idea \nis for him to capture and channel the emotion of \nwhat he’s watching into music by what’s on the \nscreen. That’s exactly what happened during the \nmaking of the Paris-based band’s second fulllength – and first with iconic label SideOneDummy – Fixed It All. Court was watching a video game \nstream on Twitch when he heard a riff. He\n immediately stopped the Twitch channel, opened \nLogic Pro and songs started to emerge. That might \nsound like an unusual process, but it makes sense. \nThe three founding members of Pærish – Court, \nbassist Martin Dupraz and drummer Julien Louvion \n– met at film school in 2010. A few years later,\n guitarist Frédéric Wah joined. While he wasn’t at \nfilm school with the others, he’s also equally \nobsessed with films.\nPærish have made friends and toured with a \nplethora of high-profile American and British \nbands, from Sum 41 to Silversun Pickups, Moose \nBlood to Movements – something that’s practically \nunheard of for a French band to do in the \nalternative rock scene. It truly shows how \ntranscendental their music is, and how easily it \ncan break barriers that plenty of others have failed \nto break.
