It’s the sound of a band with decades behind them still determined to surprise their own audience.

You get that from the opening moments: songs you know by heart pushed into higher gear, Jerry Garcia’s solos cutting through with wiry intensity, and Brent Mydland’s keyboards adding color that’s equal parts church, barroom, and outer space. The setlist moves like a living thing, stitching together rockers, ballads, and deep jams in a way that feels less like a concert and more like a long, unruly story.

For collectors, this show is a snapshot of an era that’s often overshadowed by the ‘60s and ‘70s, yet has its own distinct electricity—raw, risky, and strangely elegant. The crowd energy, the summer‑night ambience, and the band’s willingness to push tempos and twist transitions make it replayable in that obsessive Deadhead way.

If you want a physical document of the Dead at full tilt in 1985—on a night when everything feels slightly on the brink—this Merriweather set earns its space on your shelf.","A wild 1985 Merriweather night where the Dead bend time, torch classics, and turn chaos into pure live alchemy.","2026-10-04 05:55:28",6269,null,false,"instock",true,1,"CRCHAH23115","500","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/grateful-dead-merriweather-6-30-85-3cd-0603497805471.jpg",[22
624427,[],[26
6811,"Brand New CD","brand-new-cds",[],[32,37,42,47,52,57,61
5554,"Artist",[36],"Grateful Dead
10609,"Genre",[41],"Rock
10632,"Mood",[46],"Psychedelic
1796,"No Of Records",[51],"1
1339,"Record Condition",[56],"M
1338,"Sleeve Condition",[56
264,"Speed",[65],"33",[
"product:624428","profile",[71,81,89,97,105,113,121,129
"619130","Merriweather 6/30/85 - Grateful Dead - Audio CD (Arrives in 20 days)","merriweather-6-30-85-grateful-dead-audio-cd-arrives-in-20-days","5899","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/8G9675.jpg",0.8547
similar","Similar to this record
"281386","The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Winterland - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","the-jimi-hendrix-experience-winterland","5059","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/ALEG_92710__196959__02202026094629-3569-375x200-1.jpg",0.7483
"624430","Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – Live At Fillmore East (CD) - Brand New - Audio CD (Quick Ship)","crosby-stills-nash-young-live-at-fillmore-east-cd-brand-new-audio-cd-quick-ship","3959","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/csny-live-at-fillmore-east-1969-cd-0603497839612.webp",0.7376
"50973","Jerry Garcia Band Pure Jerry: Hampton Coliseum (w/ Etched J- Side) - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","jerry-garcia-band-pure-jerry-hampton-coliseum-w-etched-j-side","16499","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Jerry-Garcia-Band-Pure-Jerry-Hampton-Coliseum-w-Etched-J-Side.jpg",0.7226
"58675","Grateful Dead - Europe '72 (Live) [50th Anniversary Edition] [2CD] - Brand New - Audio CD (Quick Ship)","grateful-dead-europe-72-live-50th-anniversary-edition-2cd","3299","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Grateful-Dead-Europe-72-Live-50th-Anniversary-Edition-2CD-375x200-2.webp",0.802
"623996","Grateful Dead – Anthem Of The Sun 1971 Mix - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","grateful-dead-anthem-of-the-sun-1971-mix-brand-new-vinyl-lp-record-quick-ship","5169","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/0603497846610.webp",0.7895
"58808","Grateful Dead - The Best Of The Grateful Dead Live (Remastered) - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","grateful-dead-the-best-of-the-grateful-dead-live-remastered","6049","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Grateful-Dead-The-Best-Of-The-Grateful-Dead-Live-Remastered.jpg",0.7967
"563202","Grateful Dead – Gratest Hits - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)","grateful-dead-gratest-hits-brand-new-vinyl-lp-record-quick-ship","https://calcuttarecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Grateful-Dead-Gratest-Hits.webp",0.7763
