The album title is taken from their \nformer band name: Gangarstubbgutta. The energetic album is a result of several years of hard \nand detailed work. "Stubb" is a collection of the repertoire the group has worked on, and often \nperformed live in recent years, with guest appearances from top performers and close friends \nin the Norwegian folk music scene. \nGangar combines traditional Norwegian folk music with grooving rock and jazz, creating a new \nand exciting sound in in the process. Inspired by bands like AC\u002FDC, Hoven Droven and ZZ Top, \nGangar make old traditional Norwegian melodic folk tunes available to a wider (pop\u002Frock) \naudience, without compromising to the original material. Frontman and fiddler Mattias \nThedens finds the melodies in old archive recordings, and then the band members arrange \nthem together.
