Alice In Chains – MTV Unplugged (30th Anniversary Vinyl Reissue edition) - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)

This 30th anniversary vinyl reissue of Alice In Chains’ MTV Unplugged captures a band stripping their songs down to the bone and finding even more power in the quiet. Recorded in 1996 at the height of their influence, the set turns heavy, electric grunge anthems into stark, slow-burning confessionals. Layne Staley’s voice—fragile, wounded, and impossibly strong—sits right at the center, with Jerry Cantrell’s harmonies and acoustic textures wrapping around him like a second skin.

You hear familiar songs—“Nutshell,” “Down in a Hole,” “Rooster,” “Would?”—reimagined as late-night laments, revealing melodies and emotions that the studio versions only hinted at. The audience is respectfully present but never intrusive; the room feels charged, like everyone knows they’re witnessing something unrepeatable.

For vinyl collectors, this edition is more than a nostalgia trip. The analog warmth suits the unplugged setting, giving the guitars extra wood-and-string presence and letting the vocal blend bloom naturally. It’s a document of a band facing its own darkness with unflinching honesty, and one of the most affecting Unplugged sessions ever filmed. If you love 90s rock and value emotionally raw performances, this belongs on your shelf and your turntable.
