Arctic Monkeys – Am (CD) - Brand New - Audio CD (Quick Ship)

“AM” is the sound of Arctic Monkeys stepping out of the indie club and into a neon-lit nightscape, without losing their sharp wit or guitar bite. Released in 2013, this album cemented their shift from scrappy Sheffield upstarts to a fully formed rock institution. Josh Homme’s desert-rock shadow hovers over the grooves, but the band folds in R&B sway, hip‑hop‑inspired beats, and a crooner’s sense of drama, all while keeping the guitars front and center.

From the sly, slow-burn strut of “Do I Wanna Know?” to the swaggering pulse of “R U Mine?” and the woozy confessionals of “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?”, “AM” plays like a continuous late-night narrative: lust, doubt, bravado, and the hangover that follows. Alex Turner’s lyrics are packed with quotable one-liners, yet they land with a lived-in honesty that rewards repeat listens.

Owning “AM” on CD gives you the album as a complete arc, sequenced to be played from front to back rather than shuffled into oblivion. It’s a modern rock landmark—sleek, memorable, and surprisingly vulnerable—that belongs in any collection that traces how guitar music evolved in the 2010s.
