On violin, she performs Saariaho’s Nocturne, where memories attempt to shatter the boundlessness of time;; Bach’s Chaconne, where the repeating harmonic progression inherent to the form evokes reverence, hope, and transcendence;; and Jeffrey Mumford’s eight musings . . . revisiting memories, a reimagining of musical fragments from earlier works.
