Arthur Schoonderwoerd and his Ensemble Cristofori are taking on to play Beethoven Symphonies, but in a very different style. The Ensemble Cristofori plays really as an orchestra at that time: String Quartet, double bass, and the winds as Beethoven requires – the effect is stunning: The orchestral sound is as present as one knows, but each single voice can be heard very transparent – the Eroica and the Coriolan Overture are sounding very differently.

This is outright Beethoven as noted in the score. Schoonderwoerd is not only a fabulous pianist but a very sensible and powerful orchestral leader and conductor. Arthur Schoonderwoerd is very well established and known in the wide music field as a consistent advocate and strong contender for the so-called Early Music performance, but with a view of the 21st century and all the experiences from over the last 40 years.
