Before I Forget - Jon Lord - LP - Pre Owned Vinyl (Arrives in 21days)

Jon Lord’s "Before I Forget" is a testament to the creative breadth of a musician best known for his legendary work with Deep Purple. On this 1982 solo outing, Lord steps away from the hard rock thunder to reveal his deep affection for melody, harmony, and classical traditions. The album is a thoughtful interweaving of rock sensibility and Western classical sophistication, showcasing Lord's command of the grand piano and Hammond organ in an environment that’s far more introspective than his group projects. Noteworthy are the collaborations with friends and fellow musicians, including former Deep Purple bandmates, which lend the album a sense of camaraderie and gentle nostalgia. Tracks like "Bach Onto This" and "Tender Babes" reflect Lord’s ability to move seamlessly between genres, while the soulful vocals and lush arrangements create an inviting, lived-in soundscape. For collectors and connoisseurs, "Before I Forget" is more than a side project—it’s a rare glimpse into the heart of an artist who shaped the sound of an era, now reflecting on his roots. This is the kind of record that rewards close listening and stands as a quiet triumph in Jon Lord’s storied career.
