Bob Azzam & The Great Expectation - Bob Azzam & The Great Expectation - Vinyl LP Record (Arrives in 20 days)

• The Late ‘60s Spawned All Sorts of Psychedelic One-Offs
That Trade for Big Bucks on the Collector Circuit
• But the 1969 Self-Titled Album by Bob Azzam and The Great
Expectation Stands Out from the Crowd
• First, It Has One of the All-Time Great Drum Breaks on Their
Cover of Alvin Toussaint’s Classic “Rain Rain (Go Away)”
• And Their Version of “The Last Time” Is Probably the Most
Psychedelic Stones Cover Ever, a Delirium of Fuzz Guitar,
Electric Sitar, Rumbling Piano, and Throbbing Bass
Punctuated by Soaring, Left Banke-esque Vocal Choruses
• The Rest of the Album Is Incredibly Eclectic, Ranging from
the Tropicalismo of “Berimbau” to the Beatle-esque Takes
on the Les Reed Tunes “Mr. Lovin’ Luggage Man” and “One
Little Packet of Cigarettes”
• And Egyptian vocalist Wadie George “Bob” Azzam Pays
Tribute to His Middle Eastern Roots with “Mon Amour”
• The Record Is Also Suffused with a Little Bit of Electronic
Weirdness a la Lothar and the Hand People or Silver Apples
• First Reissue in Any Format
• Remastered for Vinyl
• Fire Orange Pressing
