Charlie Parker On Savoy Vol. 1 - Charlie Parker Used Vinyl LP Record Japanese Pressing

This 1972 CBS/Sony pressing of Charlie Parker On Savoy Vol. 1 is the kind of jazz artifact collectors quietly brag about. The record condition is Near Mint, so Parker’s alto lines jump out of the speakers with that vivid, slightly raw studio air you only get from clean early-70s Japanese vinyl. The cover is also Near Mint, with sharp corners and rich color that actually does justice to the music inside instead of looking like attic leftovers.

These are Bird’s foundational Savoy sides: fast, fearless, and packed with those phrases you swear you’ve heard quoted on a hundred later records. On this copy, cymbals shimmer instead of hiss, bass notes stay tight, and the horn feels almost uncomfortably close in the best way. If you want a copy to spin often without feeling like you’re wearing out history, this is the sweet spot.
