Chausson: Symphony in B Flat, Op. 20 / Soir de fête, Op. 32 - Michel Plasson / Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse Used Vinyl LP Record

French symphonic writing doesn’t get much more luxurious than this 1976 Seraphim LP. Michel Plasson shapes Chausson’s Symphony in B Flat and Soir de fête with a sort of unhurried confidence—lush, moody, then suddenly lit up with brass and sparkling woodwinds.

This copy sounds wonderfully alive: the vinyl is in Very Good Plus condition, with that slightly velvety analogue surface that suits late‑Romantic colors. The sleeve is Near Mint and still looks proudly “’70s serious”—clean spine, sharp edges, and artwork that actually deserves to be left facing out on the shelf.

It’s the kind of record you pull out when you want an orchestral fix that’s grand but not overfamiliar; more “knowing nod from a fellow collector” than greatest‑hits fare. If your Western classical section already has the usual Brahms and Tchaikovsky suspects, this is the elegant outsider that earns repeat plays.
