Closeness - Charlie Haden - LP - Pre Owned Vinyl (Arrives in 14days)

Charlie Haden’s 'Closeness' stands as one of the most intimate documents in jazz, capturing the legendary bassist in a series of duets with some of the genre’s most innovative minds. Rather than spotlighting himself, Haden crafts a dialogue—each track is a conversation as much as a composition. The album features collaborations with Ornette Coleman, Alice Coltrane, Keith Jarrett, and Paul Motian, each bringing their distinctive voice to the table, yet always leaving space for Haden’s signature lyricism.

What sets 'Closeness' apart is its vulnerability. The performances are stripped down, exposing the bare, emotional core of both the material and the musicians. There’s a sense of mutual respect and discovery, as if we’re eavesdropping on private exchanges between friends. For collectors and listeners who value deep listening, this is an essential piece—a record that rewards repeated plays with new shades and textures. It’s a testament to how jazz can be both personal and universal, and a reminder of Haden’s unique ability to make every note feel lived-in and true.
