La Croisette, lined with palm trees, is the elegant beachside boulevard in Cannes, the most glamorous resort on the Côte d’Azur – otherwise known as the French Riviera. Croisette, the album, evokes the fun-loving spirit of the 1920s and early 1930s with 25 numbers from opérettes, French musical comedies of the era. Joining the Orchestre national de Cannes and its music director, Benjamin Levy, are eight leading French singers, all admired in opera: sopranos Patricia Petibon, Amel Brahim-Djelloul and Marion Tassou; mezzo-soprano Pauline Sabatier; tenors Philippe Talbot and Rémy Mathieu; baritone Guillaume Andrieux, and bass-baritone Laurent Naouri.

Croisette was recorded in Cannes’ famous Palais des Festivals.
