Jean-Francois Dandrieu (ca. 1682-1738) was a French Baroque composer and organist. He was a prominent figure in the musical world of Paris and held positions at several prestigious churches including the royal chapel of Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois. Dandrieu composed numerous pieces for harpsichord and organ, including suites, dances, and hymns.

This set presents the Premier livre de Pièces d’Orgue, containing six suites of pieces in differing church tones, each with a sequence of versets suitable for performance under the canticle Magnificat.

Pieter-Jan Belder plays the historic Georges Kittinger 1779 organ of the Église Saint-Côme-et-Saint-Damien, Vézelise, France, its full specifications included in the booklet.
