A pioneer of both the Western Swing and Honky Tonk sound, Floyd Tillman was one of the first Country artists to write Pop crossover hits, it is estimated that recordings of his songs have sold in excess of 50 million copies, these include covers by the likes of Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, Patsy Cline, Bing Crosby and Ella Fitzgerald. Tillman had many hits in his own right, achieving top 10 on the US Country charts many times, and those tracks are all featured here. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 1984 by his great friend Willie Nelson who dubbed Tillman the ‘Original Outlaw’.
