Estrangeiro - Caetano Veloso - Audio CD - Pre Owned CDs (Arrives in 14days)

Released in 1989, 'Estrangeiro' stands as one of Caetano Veloso’s boldest creative leaps—a masterclass in cultural dialogue and musical reinvention. Here, Veloso, a towering figure of Brazil’s Tropicália movement, fuses the lyricism of his roots with a daring, global palette. Produced by Arto Lindsay and Peter Scherer, the album’s arrangements are taut and surprising, weaving together Brazilian rhythms, New York’s avant-garde edge, and subtle electronic flourishes. Tracks like 'Meia Lua Inteira' and 'Vamo Comer' showcase Veloso’s poetic wit and restless curiosity, while the entire album thrums with a sense of searching—of being at home and out of place, all at once. 'Estrangeiro' is a record that rewards close listening: its textures reveal themselves slowly, its themes resonate ever more strongly with each spin. For collectors and enthusiasts, this album captures a moment where Brazilian songwriting met the vanguard of global music head-on. It’s a vital document of artistic risk-taking and a testament to Veloso’s enduring relevance—an album that belongs in any serious collection of international or experimental music.
