Get Up With It - Miles Davis - Audio CD - Pre Owned CDs (Arrives in 14days)

Released in 1974, 'Get Up With It' stands as one of Miles Davis’s boldest statements—a double album that captures the restless spirit of a genius in transformation. Here, Davis ventures far from conventional jazz, weaving together sprawling soundscapes and unorthodox grooves that edge into electronic, funk, and even ambient territories. The opening track, 'He Loved Him Madly,' is a haunting, meditative tribute to Duke Ellington and a blueprint for the ambient genre years ahead of its time. Throughout, Davis’s trumpet is both a beacon and a shadow, guiding listeners through swirling textures, hypnotic rhythms, and moments of raw, unfiltered emotion. The band—featuring luminaries like Pete Cosey and Al Foster—matches his vision with fearless improvisation, making each track a world unto itself. 'Get Up With It' isn’t just an album; it’s an immersive, unpredictable journey through the mind of one of music’s great innovators. For collectors and adventurous listeners alike, this is a record that rewards repeated listens, revealing new layers with every spin. It’s a testament to Davis’s refusal to stand still—essential for anyone who wants to understand where jazz can go when it breaks free of gravity.
