Rocío Márquez is one of the fundamental figures of 21st-century flamenco. Throughout her artistic career, she has combined rigorous research, creativity, and performance excellence, making a resounding contribution to positioning flamenco at the forefront of contemporary music. Rocío has taken her singing from the flamenco peñas to the great temples of music. The Teatro Real, the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, the Primavera Sound, Les Trans Musicales in Rennes, the Philharmonie de Paris… In 2020 his album Visto en el Jueves won the Victoire for “best world music album” in France, while the following one, “Tercer Cielo”, received the prize for best album of the year 2022 from the PAM (association of music journalists) in Spain and the prize for best world music album in France from Télérama and Le Monde.
