Homing is the 3rd album by saxophonist/composer Sam Newbould and his all-star quintet (Xavi Torres – piano, Guy Salamon – drums, Bernard van Rossum – tenor sax and Jort Terwijn – double bass. Homing contains of original music inspired by Sam’s temporary adoption of a Polish homing pigeon as well his own reflections on building a life abroad. Homing mixes the melodic lyricism of jazz and folk with heavy danceable grooves and explosive improvisations.
