In Person, Friday Night At The Blackhawk, San Francisco, Volume I - Miles Davis - LP - Pre Owned Vinyl (Arrives in 21days)

Captured in the atmospheric intimacy of San Francisco’s Blackhawk club in 1961, this live recording finds Miles Davis at a creative crossroads and in rare form. Rather than the polished sheen of his studio sessions, 'In Person, Friday Night At The Blackhawk, San Francisco, Volume I' offers an unfiltered look at Davis and his ensemble—featuring Hank Mobley, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb—communicating in the moment, pushing boundaries, and drawing the audience into every nuanced phrase. The setlist brims with standards and Davis originals, each stretched and reshaped in real time, revealing the group’s chemistry and individual artistry. The ambiance of clinking glasses and murmured conversations only intensifies the sense of being present at an historic moment in jazz history. This album is not just a document of Davis’ live prowess—it is a testament to the improvisational energy that defined his approach to music. For collectors and jazz lovers, this record delivers the rare thrill of witnessing a master at work, surrounded by peers, and captured with all the warmth and unpredictability of an unforgettable night out.
