It Takes a Thief: Very Best Thievery Corporation Thievery Corporation - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)

It Takes a Thief: Very Best Thievery Corporation distills years of globe‑trotting soundcraft into one immersive listen. Curated by the duo themselves, this compilation pulls together standout cuts from their downtempo, dub, and lounge‑infused catalog, offering a guided tour through smoky basslines, cinematic strings, and rhythm patterns that nod to Jamaica, Brazil, the Middle East, and beyond.

What makes this record special is how seamlessly it plays as an album rather than a simple playlist of hits. The sequencing eases you from hazy, beat‑driven instrumentals into vocal tracks that carry quiet political undercurrents and cosmopolitan romance. It’s a snapshot of the late‑90s and 2000s lounge era, but it hasn’t aged into background music—there’s too much detail in the production, too much intent in the grooves.

For vinyl‑minded listeners, this is the ideal entry point into Thievery Corporation’s world: you get the essential tracks without losing the narrative arc that makes their studio albums so rewarding. Put it on when the lights are low, let the needle ride, and you’ll hear why this duo became a cornerstone of modern downtempo and left‑field electronic music.
