Joystick - Dazz Band - LP - Pre Owned Vinyl (Arrives in 21days)

Released at the crest of the electro-funk wave in 1983, Dazz Band’s 'Joystick' is a vital document of a group in full command of their party-starting prowess. The title track, with its infectious synth riff and a rhythm section tight as a wire, quickly became a club favorite and remains a touchstone for fans of early ‘80s funk-pop. Here, the Cleveland collective leans hard into the era’s technological advances, weaving crisp LinnDrum programming and glossy keyboards with their trademark brass and vocal interplay.

But 'Joystick' is more than a collection of dance cuts—it’s a snapshot of a transitional moment in Black American pop, bridging the late-‘70s funk tradition with the coming dominance of electronic R&B. The album’s kinetic spirit and unapologetic celebration of fun make it an essential listen for anyone seeking the roots of contemporary dance music. For collectors, this is a record that captures both the joy and innovation of its time, and it never fails to bring a room to life. Spin it when you want to remember why moving to the groove is timeless.
