Keystone 3 - Art Blakey And The Jazz Messengers* - LP - Pre Owned Vinyl (Arrives in 21days)

Recorded live at the legendary Keystone Korner in San Francisco, 'Keystone 3' captures Art Blakey and his Jazz Messengers in peak form during the early 1980s. This album is a masterclass in hard bop, featuring a lineup that brims with future jazz icons—Wynton Marsalis on trumpet, Branford Marsalis on saxophone, Bill Pierce, and more. Blakey’s drumming is both thunderous and nuanced, driving the band with unmistakable authority while leaving plenty of space for his young collaborators to shine.

Unlike many live jazz recordings, 'Keystone 3' is remarkable for its clarity and immediacy; each solo feels urgent, each ensemble passage electric with interplay. The setlist blends classic standards and fiery originals, providing a snapshot of a group at the crossroads of tradition and innovation. For collectors and jazz enthusiasts, this record isn’t just another live date—it’s a living document of mentorship, virtuosity, and the unrepeatable magic that happens when a master leads his disciples on stage. If you value jazz that crackles with spirit and historical gravitas, 'Keystone 3' deserves a place on your turntable.
