'Giovanni Ceccarelli and Ferruccio Spinetti are masters in the art of stripping down a musical work to better highlight its beauty and intimacy. After attempting this exercise with the works of Ennio Morricone [album More Morricone in 2020 (*)], Giovanni Ceccarelli and double bassist Ferruccio Spinetti are now at it again with those of another great composer: Michel Legrand. Their new project, entitled 'Le grand Michel – A journey with Michel Legrand,' lays bare a wide repertoire that includes works from Jacques Demy's films, as well as songs composed for Claude Nougaro, Ray Charles, and Hollywood. For this album, produced by Bonsaï Music, Giovanni Ceccarelli and Ferruccio Spinetti invited exceptional artists to the studio: André Ceccarelli, Enrico Pieranunzi, Camille Bertault, Jean Guidoni, Chiara Civello, Jody Sternberg and David Lewis.
