Making Music - Hussain, Zakir - LP - Brand New Vinyl (Arrives in 20days)

Released in 1987, 'MAKING MUSIC' stands as a landmark in the world of global fusion. Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain leads a transcendent ensemble featuring jazz saxophonist Jan Garbarek, guitarist John McLaughlin, and flautist Hariprasad Chaurasia. What unfolds is an intricate conversation—each artist freely exchanging motifs, anchored by Hussain’s rhythmic imagination. Rather than a simple blend of East and West, the album crafts a genuinely new musical vocabulary, balancing improvisational jazz freedom with the nuanced beauty of Indian classical forms.

The album’s significance lies in its seamless interplay, where no tradition overshadows another; instead, a shared curiosity and respect drive each track. 'MAKING MUSIC' invites listeners into a rare creative space—one where boundaries dissolve, and the spirit of collaboration becomes audible. Whether you’re a collector seeking a pillar of contemporary fusion or a listener eager for vivid musical dialogue, this album is a testament to the power of artistic risk-taking. Zakir Hussain’s vision is both generous and daring, making this LP essential for anyone passionate about the evolution of world music.
