Mehfil = मेहफिल (In A Live Performance) - Pankaj Udhas Used Vinyl LP Record

There’s a different kind of silence just before a ghazal begins—this LP catches that feeling perfectly. Recorded live, Pankaj Udhas sounds close, unpolished in the best way, with the room ambience wrapping around his voice.

This 1983 Music India pressing comes on a Very Good vinyl LP: surfaces show light handling but play wonderfully, with that gentle analog texture fans secretly love. The cover sits at a solid Very Good Minus—minor edge wear, some aging, yet the artwork still looks proud on a shelf.

If you grew up with Udhas playing on family evenings, this is that memory pressed into wax. If you’re new to him, it’s like walking into an intimate show from four decades ago, front row, no crowd noise to fight.

Spin it on a quiet night, let the harmonium and tabla roll out slowly, and you’ll understand why collectors hunt these early live sets.
