Modder started out as a passion project between guitarist, songwriter & producer Mathlovsky and his longtime companion Gregory Simons on drums. After recording their massive first single ‘Mudslinger’ (November 2020), which is an impressive 21 minute long riff test, combining influences ranging from Sleep to Meshuggah. Bass player Maurice Van Der Es joined the duo to expand their sonic mayhem. The self-titled album, which was even recorded before ‘Mudslinger’ in 2020, gained its extra low end as a result. Recruiting Maxime Rouqaert from Gregory’s band, Modder found their second guitarist for an extra layer of distortion. Simon Felix was approached to perform the programmed bass synths & industrial samples live, the band was now fully formed.
