Morning Evening - Fazil Say - Audio CD (Arrives in 50 days)

As its title suggests, Fazil Say’s double album Morning and Evening offers mood music – in the form of solo piano pieces – for two contrasting times of day. It unites two collections, Morning Piano and Evening Piano, both recorded in the Mozarteum in Salzburg and originally released digitally, prompting some 60 million streams online.

“When it comes down to it, we are searching for integrity in the music we listen to,” says Fazil Say. “In the morning it takes shape through rhythm and melody, and in the evening through melody and harmony.”

Morning focuses primarily on the Baroque and early Classical periods, with pieces by Scarlatti, C.P.E Bach, Daquin, Mozart and Haydn, but it also embraces later periods with Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Albéniz, and one of Fazil Say’s own compositions, ‘A winter morning in Istanbul’. Evening places the emphasis on the 19th and early 20th centuries with Schubert, Chopin, Schumann, Brahms, Janáček, Satie, Debussy (‘Clair de lune’, of course), Ravel and Granados.
