New Musical Heights - Mehdi Hassan Used Vinyl LP Record

This 1979 Polydor pressing of Mehdi Hassan’s *New Musical Heights* feels like a quiet late‑night gathering in your living room. The ghazals unfold slowly, with Hassan’s voice floating just ahead of the tabla and harmonium, giving you that warm, slightly smoky analogue glow only a well-kept vintage LP can manage.

The record condition is Very Good Minus: a few light marks, but it plays through with the kind of gentle surface noise that actually suits these meditative tracks. The cover is also Very Good Minus, showing honest shelf wear and soft edges, but the vintage Polydor artwork still looks proud on a shelf.

If you’ve only heard these songs on compressed digital reissues, this LP is a different story—more breath, more space, and a natural softness that flatters Mehdi Hassan’s phrasing. A solid pick for anyone building a serious ghazal corner or chasing that classic late‑70s Hindustani sound.
