The pianist Fred Hersch went on tour in Asia in 2016, he was set to play two solo concerts at the JCC Art Center Concert Hall in Seoul. Suffering from jet lag, he sat down, and started to improvise and gave an amazing performance. Weeks later he realized how special it was, but didn't have enough material for a complete album. “In April of 2017, I went back to the same hall and recorded music that I thought would fit with this improvisation, now called ‘Through The Forest’. - Hersch
