Agnes Chan’s 1972 LP “Original (II) (A New Beginning)” feels like finding a handwritten letter in a stack of bills — tender, a little shy, and completely disarming. Pressed on the Life label, this first‑wave Agnes era captures her youthful voice before the polish, when the arrangements still left space for tape hiss and tiny room echoes.
This copy’s in Very Good Minus shape on both record and cover: light surface marks and a touch of age on the sleeve, but nothing that kills the charm. It’s the kind of VG− you actually play, not frame.
If you’re building a shelf of early‑70s singer‑songwriter gems with a gentle pop touch, this one slips in perfectly — nostalgic without feeling stuck in amber. Spin it on a quiet evening and you’ll understand why collectors still hunt down these early Life pressings.
