“Reflections of Becoming” is the debut album by Latvian drummer and composer Dāvids Eglītis, currently residing in the Netherlands. The album is a 7-part suite, a personal story of heartbreak and finding the strength to move forward. Eglītis draws on a diverse pool of inspiration – from modern heroes Joel Ross and Immanuel Wilkins, through classical masters Mahler and Tchaikovsky, to the spirituality of Coltrane. His band embodies the international flavor of the current Dutch jazz scene: Claudio Jr. de Rosa (IT) – saxophones, Enrico Le Noci (IT) – guitar, Daniel Bulatkin (CZ) – piano & Arjun Ramdas (IN) – double bass.
