Relaxin' With The Miles Davis Quintet - The Miles Davis Quintet - LP - Pre Owned Vinyl (Arrives in 14days)

Recorded in the twilight hours of 1956, 'Relaxin' With The Miles Davis Quintet' stands as a luminous document of post-bop mastery. The album captures the legendary quintet—Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones—at a moment when their creative chemistry was electric yet effortlessly restrained. Each track reveals a conversational intimacy; listen closely and you’ll hear musicians responding to one another in real time, never crowding the space, always listening. The setlist is a tasteful mix of standards and originals, rendered with that inimitable Davis touch: muted trumpet lines, airy piano comping, and a rhythm section that swings with a light, unhurried pulse. The mood is uncommonly relaxed, yet every note feels vital, brimming with nuanced emotion. The album’s historical significance is clear—it’s both a blueprint for modern jazz ensembles and a testament to the art of musical understatement. For collectors and newcomers alike, this pressing offers a front-row seat to a group redefining what it means to groove and breathe together. Owning this album means holding a piece of jazz history that never loses its cool.
