Rit/2 - Lee Ritenour - LP - Pre Owned Vinyl (Arrives in 14days)

Rit/2 finds guitarist Lee Ritenour at a pivotal moment, folding his jazz roots into the polished, radio‑ready sound of the early ’80s without losing musical depth. If Rit introduced his crossover instincts, Rit/2 refines them: tight horn charts, synth textures, and crisp rhythm sections frame Ritenour’s unmistakable touch—clean, lyrical, and quietly daring.

This is the sound of West Coast studios in full glow: session pros locking into pocket grooves, melodies that linger long after the needle lifts, and arrangements that reward close listening on a good sound system. You can hear Ritenour’s jazz sensibility in the harmonic turns and solos, yet the songwriting leans toward pop and R&B, making the record accessible even if you don’t usually reach for jazz.

On vinyl, Rit/2 really comes alive—the warmth of the bass, the shimmer of the electric piano, and the nuanced articulation of Ritenour’s guitar all sit naturally in the stereo field. It’s an ideal pick for collectors who love jazz but crave something melodic and laid back, a record that works equally well as late‑night listening or as a window into how jazz guitar adapted to the slick, modern sound of its era.
