Sarah Kirkland Snider:... - andrew Cyr Metropolis Ensemble - Audio CD (Arrives in 50 days)

The latest release in the partnership between Nonesuch and New Amsterdam Records will be a recording of composer Sarah Kirkland Snider's acclaimed orchestral works, entitled Forward Into Light.

The album is a collaboration with Metropolis Ensemble and conductor Andrew Cyr.

Deemed 'one of new music’s leading names' (Gramophone) and 'a rising star on the American compositional scene' (Wall Street Journal), Sarah Kirkland Snider's work has variously been hailed as 'rapturous' (New York Times), 'groundbreaking' (Boston Globe), and 'ravishingly beautiful' (NPR). In a recent profile feature, Gramophone wrote: 'Expressive, evocative, and personal, Sarah Kirkland Snider’s music explores emotional landscapes through vivid, compelling narratives in a unique sound world that she has made identifiably her own – familiar, yet at the same time strange and unsettling.'

Forward Into Light follows Kirkland Snider's previous releases for New Amsterdam/Nonesuch: 2023's The Blue Hour (a song cycle written by Kirkland Snider, Rachel Grimes, Angélica Negrón, Shara Nova and Caroline Shaw) and 2020's Mass for the Endangered.
