Song For Juli - Jesse Colin Young - LP - Pre Owned Vinyl (Arrives in 21days)

Jesse Colin Young’s 'Song For Juli' stands as a quietly profound statement from the 1970s singer-songwriter era. Released in 1973 after Young’s work with The Youngbloods, this album captures a time of introspection and renewal. At its core, 'Song For Juli' is an intimate, folk-rooted journey—lush with acoustic textures, gentle piano, and Young’s warm, contemplative vocals. The songs exude a sense of place, inspired by Young’s life in the pastoral hills of Marin County, California, and reflect on themes of community, family, and healing.

Tracks like 'Morning Sun' and the title piece radiate with hope and a gentle resilience, while the arrangements—rich with harmonica, pedal steel, and subtle jazz touches—create a tapestry that is both earthy and sophisticated. The album’s charm lies in its authenticity; it invites listeners into Young’s world, offering solace and reflection without pretense. For collectors and audiophiles, 'Song For Juli' is not just a window into a unique artist’s vision, but an essential touchstone of American folk. Its timeless warmth and honest storytelling make it an enduring favorite, perfect for repeated listening on a quiet afternoon.
