Yes took a bold leap, crafting an expansive double album inspired by Hindu shastric scriptures and guided by Jon Anderson’s fascination with metaphysical texts. Each side of the record is a single, sprawling composition, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in a world where musical boundaries dissolve and ideas flow with unrestrained creativity. Steve Howe’s guitar work weaves intricate patterns, while Rick Wakeman’s keyboards conjure vast, oceanic soundscapes. The rhythm section—Chris Squire and Alan White—anchors the suite’s shifting tides, balancing virtuosity with meditative space. Daring, divisive, and utterly unique, the album has inspired decades of debate and admiration, attracting both purists and adventurous listeners. For collectors, this is a cornerstone release that encapsulates both the heights of 1970s progressive rock and the spirit of fearless artistic exploration. Owning this album is not only an invitation to revisit a bold chapter in music history—it’s an opportunity to experience an evolving, epic tapestry every time the needle drops.
