Thelonious Monk – Monk's Music (2024 Remaster) (Craft OJC Series) - Brand New - Vinyl LP Record (Quick Ship)

Monk’s Music is the sound of Thelonious Monk at full creative voltage, and this 2024 Craft OJC remaster lets you feel every sideways accent and off‑kilter chord with startling clarity. Recorded in 1957 with an all-star front line including John Coltrane and Coleman Hawkins, the album captures a rare moment where bebop’s past and future collide around Monk’s fiercely individual vision.

You hear it immediately in the bracing take on “Abide With Me,” the jagged swing of “Well, You Needn’t,” and the crooked blues logic of “Ruby, My Dear.” Monk’s piano is percussive and unhurried, leaving air around each idea; the remaster preserves that space, revealing the grain of the horns and the warmth of the rhythm section without sanding down the edges that make this music so alive.

For collectors, this Craft OJC Series edition is more than a reissue: it’s a museum‑grade restoration of one of Riverside’s crown jewels, presented as it deserves to be heard on a dedicated listening setup. If you want a cornerstone Monk record that shows why his writing and touch reshaped modern jazz, this is the copy you’ll keep reaching for.
