Think Of One - Wynton Marsalis - LP - Pre Owned Vinyl (Arrives in 14days)

Wynton Marsalis’s 'Think Of One' stands as a defining statement in jazz’s ongoing dialogue between past and present. Released in 1983, this Grammy-winning album captures Marsalis at a vital turning point—paying homage to jazz giants, yet unafraid to carve out his own dynamic voice. At the heart of the record is the young trumpeter’s technical mastery and his group’s razor-sharp interplay, channeling the spirit of classic hard bop while injecting a sense of urgency and invention. The title track, a nod to Thelonious Monk, is both reverent and adventurous, balancing intricate composition with bursts of improvisational fire. Marsalis’s tone is bold, his phrasing precise, and his band—featuring his brother Branford Marsalis on saxophone—matches him at every twist and turn. More than a showcase of skill, 'Think Of One' marks a moment when jazz’s lineage was both celebrated and pushed forward. For collectors and jazz aficionados, this album is a must-have: it’s a testament to youthful innovation meeting deep respect for tradition, all pressed onto vinyl with the warmth and clarity that this music deserves.
