This 20th Anniversary Edition was remastered from the original tapes by Emily Lazar, includes 14 unreleased outtakes and demos, and reworked artwork. In October, 2005, My Morning Jacket released their fourth studio album, Z, named after the last letter of the alphabet because, singer-guitarist- songwriter Jim James says today, "I thought it would be the end of the band." It was everything but the end. Co-produced with John Leckie – a British studio legend with credits on, among other things, Pink Floyd's Meddle, Radiohead's The Bends and George Harrison's All Things Must Pass – Z was My Morning Jacket's biggest seller to date and the first album by the classic, enduring quintet.
