Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – Déjà Vu (CD) - Brand New - Audio CD (Quick Ship)

“Déjà Vu” captures Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young at the exact moment when folk-rooted songwriting collided with the ambition of classic rock. Released in 1970, it’s an album that sounds like a crossroads: political unrest, personal fracture, and luminous harmony all pressed into one remarkable sequence.

You get the intricate vocal braids and acoustic shimmer you’d expect, but there’s a darker undercurrent here that sets it apart from their debut. Neil Young’s arrival sharpens the edges—tracks like “Helpless” and “Country Girl” feel bruised yet expansive, while Stephen Stills drives the band into grittier territory. Graham Nash and David Crosby balance that intensity with melodies that feel instantly familiar, yet never saccharine.

As a CD edition, this is a chance to live with the record as a complete journey rather than a playlist of famous singles. It’s for listeners who want to hear how West Coast idealism frays at the edges, yet still reaches for something communal and beautiful. If you’re building a serious rock collection, “Déjà Vu” isn’t just a classic—it’s one of the core documents of the singer-songwriter era and the Laurel Canyon mythos.
