Neil Young & Crazy Horse – Rust Never Sleeps (CD) - Brand New - Audio CD (Quick Ship)

“Rust Never Sleeps” captures Neil Young & Crazy Horse in a rare, knife-edge balance between reflection and revolt. Recorded live and then meticulously shaped in the studio, the album moves from bare-bones acoustic confessionals to some of the fiercest electric rock Young ever committed to tape.

The first half feels like a late-night campfire where the stories are too honest to be comfortable. Songs like “Thrasher” and “Pocahontas” unravel with stark imagery and a quiet, haunted beauty that shows Young’s songwriting at its most vulnerable and precise.

Flip to the electric side and the band becomes a force of nature. “Powderfinger” rides in like a tragic short film, while “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)” turns distortion into a manifesto on art, fame, and decay. Crazy Horse’s famously ragged interplay gives the guitar tones a human quiver—imperfect, alive, and impossible to fake.

This CD is essential for anyone who cares about rock as a living, questioning art form. It’s a document of an artist refusing to coast on past glories, pushing his sound and his audience forward. For a collection that values both history and impact, this belongs on the shelf within easy reach.
