Ravi ShankarRavi Shankar was an Indian sitar virtuoso and composer who became perhaps the most internationally recognized ambassador of Hindustani…View all Ravi Shankar records1979, Polydor, Ravi Shankar easing into evening with two ragas that feel like unhurried conversation. This original LP of “Ragas Hameer & Gara” carries that late‑night hush: the tanpura hums, the sitar blooms slowly, and the room suddenly feels a little more sacred.
The record plays in Very Good condition: clean, lively sound with the kind of gentle surface hush you expect from a well‑kept vintage LP, not a thrift‑store beater. The cover sits at Very Good Minus, showing light edge wear and age, the sort of shelf patina that tells you it’s actually seen a turntable, not just a frame.
If you’re building a serious Indian classical shelf, this is one of those titles that quietly anchors everything around it – musical, meditative, and deeply human. Spin it for a slow Sunday, late‑night reading, or whenever the modern world is a bit too loud.
