Ras Rang: Evolution of Thumri Vol. 2 - Various Used Audio Cassette

1997, Sony nad, Hindi Thumri on a real-deal cassette – this is the kind of tape that makes you slow down and actually listen. “Ras Rang: Evolution of Thumri Vol. 2” gathers various artists tracing the delicate, romantic side of Hindustani music, but with that unmistakable late-90s studio warmth. Vocals sit close to your ear, harmonium and tabla wrap around them, and the slight hiss reminds you this isn’t a stream; it’s a relic that still sings.

The cassette itself plays in Very Good condition – clean sound, no drama – while the cover is in Very Good Minus, showing light handling that suits its age without looking tired. It’s a lovely pick for anyone building a serious Indian classical tape shelf, or for someone who just wants a quiet night with a walkman and some timeless poetry set to melody.
