Dhrupad Dhamar - Pt. K.G. Ginde Sealed Audio CD

Pt. K.G. Ginde’s “Dhrupad Dhamar” on Meera Music feels like a slow-open temple door: nothing flashy, just pure, steady power. His voice settles into each note with unhurried confidence, and the tanpura and pakhawaj wrap around it like warm dusk light. This cd is in rare shape — recordCondition is Mint, and the coverCondition is Mint too — the kind of copy collectors quietly keep an eye out for. It’s Hindi, rooted deep in traditional Indian Classical, yet there’s something startlingly intimate about how close the alaaps feel, as if he’s singing a private riyaaz you’ve been secretly allowed to overhear. If you’re building a serious Hindustani shelf, this belongs next to your most treasured dhrupad recordings.
