Raga - Darbari Kanada / Raga - Kaushi-Dhani - Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Used Vinyl LP Record

There’s a certain hush that falls when Bade Ghulam Ali Khan starts Darbari Kanada, and this 1970 His Master’s Voice LP captures that feeling beautifully. The record is in Very Good Minus condition, with light surface wear but still plenty of depth in those meend and gamak. The jacket, also Very Good Minus, carries just the right amount of shelf wear to feel genuinely vintage, not tired.

On side one, Darbari Kanada unfolds slowly, like a late-night conversation that no one wants to end. Flip it over and Kaushi-Dhani brings a slightly brighter, introspective mood, the kind you put on when the house is finally quiet. This isn’t background music; it’s the kind of Indian classical record you actually sit with.

If you’re building a serious raga shelf, you already know HMV 1970s pressings of Bade Ghulam Ali Khan don’t linger in the crates for long.
