This release presents the complete
original LP Djangology, which was
compiled in 1961 (less than a decade
after Django Reinhardt’s untimely
death in 1953 at the age of 43).
Although the album cover claimed
to feature the Quintet of the Hot
Club of France, it actually presented
music from a series of 1949 dates
that reunited Reinhardt and violinist
Stéphane Grappelli in Rome along
with a local rhythm section.
