About Eagles
Eagles sprang to life in early 1971 when Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner, fresh from touring with Linda Ronstadt, decided to form a band in Los Angeles. Their harmonies and blend of rock, country, folk and bluegrass—dazzling on their 1972 debut single “Take It Easy”—quickly captured the spirit of California’s burgeoning country‑rock scene. Their early albums—including ‘Desperado’ and ‘On the Border’—further refined their sound, blending storytelling and tight musicianship. As they transitioned into the mid‑1970s, additions like Don Felder and Joe Walsh steered the band toward a more complex, rock‑infused style while retaining its signature harmony‑rich roots. Albums such as ‘One of These Nights’ (1975)—featuring hits like “Lyin’ Eyes” and “Take It to the Limit”—and especially the epochal 1976 release ‘Hotel California’ elevated the Eagles to stratospheric levels of fame, cementing their reputation for evocative lyrics, layered arrangements and soaring guitar work. Their compilation “Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975)” became the defining collection of their early years, eventually becoming the bestselling album in U.S. history—now certified quadruple‑diamond. Meanwhile, ‘Hotel California’ remains a timeless masterpiece, consistently ranked among the greatest albums of all time and certified multi‑diamond. The band’s clean yet emotionally resonant production and seamless fusion of genres shaped a generation of Southern California soft‑rock and album‑oriented radio. Despite a hiatus in 1980, the Eagles reunited in 1994 for the acclaimed live record and MTV special 'Hell Freezes Over'. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and continued to tour and record, even following Glenn Frey’s passing in 2016. Into the 2020s, their farewell “The Long Goodbye” tour and record‑setting Sphere residency celebrate a legacy of beautifully crafted songs, tight harmonies and enduring appeal.
